PSLE English comprehension

Help your child reach stronger answers, even when you're not by their side.

ThinkOtter gives your child guided practice between lessons, so they work out what's missing instead of jumping straight to the answer.

See it in action

From a first attempt to a stronger answer

“Happy” is not enough.

"How did Wei-Han feel when the kite finally rose high into the sky? How do you know?"

First attempt

"Happy."

Guidance

"‘Happy’ is a good start, but this question is worth 2 marks. Can you find a stronger word, and the passage evidence for that feeling?"

Stronger answer

"He felt elated as he laughed out loud without meaning to."

What you see after your child practises

Your child's final answer beside the model answer, and how many tries it took to get there.

For busy parents

Guided practice without making you the tutor

You set up the account. Your child practises with ThinkOtter.

  • No more marking every answer yourself.
  • No more coming up with hints when your child gets stuck.
  • No more sitting through the whole practice.

Worksheets / assessment books School / tuition Generic AI tutors / answer apps ThinkOtter
Who helps mid-question? More questions, but no help when your child is stuck. Valuable teaching, but the help ends with the lesson. Hands over the answer, so your child can skip the thinking. Help arrives while your child is stuck, and only after they have tried.
What happens to the thinking? The book marks the answer right or wrong, but never shows your child how to reach it. Good teaching in the lesson, but your child still practises alone in between. Your child can outsource the thinking to AI instead of doing it. Your child has to try first, then go back to the passage for the evidence.

What parents ask before they start

ThinkOtter is guided PSLE comprehension practice for Singapore upper-primary children. Your child reads a passage, answers one question at a time and gets sent back to the text before stronger help appears. After the session, you can see whether your child got there on the first try or needed hints to work it out.
ThinkOtter leads with hints, not answers. When an answer needs work, it points your child back to the passage, so they practise checking the text and finding evidence.
Start with free guided practice. During launch, ThinkOtter has two monthly plans: Starter at S$14.90/month (10 guided sessions, up to 10 hours of guided practice) and Practice at S$22.90/month (20 guided sessions, up to 20 hours). Practice time depends on your child's level and pace. See our plans.
