Do I need to mark my child's work?

You don't have to start from a blank answer key. ThinkOtter reviews each attempt against the passage evidence and answer format, then gives you a report on what your child did well, where they needed hints, and what to practise next. You can still review the report and passage if you want to check the details.

What if English isn't my strong subject?

That's fine. ThinkOtter explains the strengths, the areas to work on, and the next step in plain language, so you can support practice even if English isn't your strong subject, isn't the main language at home, or a grandparent is on pick-up duty, without having to explain every open-ended answer yourself.

How will I know if my child is improving?

After every completed session ThinkOtter gives a report showing strengths, where hints were needed, and which real Paper 2 comprehension formats to work on next.

Is my child's data safe?

Yes. Your child's information is kept private. We never sell it, and we share it only with trusted providers needed to run the service. The learning space has no ads and no external links, so it's a safe place for them to focus and practise.

Can I use ThinkOtter if I'm not an English teacher?

Yes. You do not need to know the mark scheme. ThinkOtter checks each answer against the model answer and shows you, in plain language, what was missing and why a mark was lost. Your job is to read the report, not to mark the paper. ThinkOtter is guided practice between lessons, not a replacement for a live tutor or a teacher's judgement.

How do I help without doing all the marking myself?
